Nicola Corti & Moon Ra - E​.​S​.​P.

I've had this for some time but slept on it, which is appropriate because the theme is sleep - not that it's sleep-inducing - no - there's plenty to captivate the wide-open ears on E.S.P - the title alone pleases me, just because that Miles Davis bloke made an album of the same name in the 60s, didn't he? Yes, you know it........

..........but before I go off on Miles (a road that goes on forever) I listen to Nicola Corti & Moon Ra again...

...........the intro to which may or may not start with a snore, a treated one, or approximation electronically generated, reminding me of Pierre Henry's endless creaking door variations....before snaking/drifting off into the strange unfathomable slumberland visions here transcribed (quite brilliantly) into sound, as eerie as they are seductive.............

.................................it's a real pleasure to come across sounds made today with a grand lineage of electroacoustic genius yet somehow being of our time, not in awe, or trying too hard to emulate, yet capturing/evoking the history....so go and have a listen on Bandcamp and check out the related stuff too...it's all good...
