Watched Alfred Hitchcock Presents last night, the episode called Don't Come Back Alive. As the couple's dilemma is made clear, got that 'Nothing's changed' feeling, as if the struggle to get employment at a certain age and rent payment worries would/should have gone away by now...huh...like democracy and capitalism can solve it. Also thought how unusual it was to see these issues being aired by a programme made in 'the richest country on earth' during it's supposed 'golden age' of prosperity and material wealth...perhaps writer Robert Dennis had the recent recession in mind...
